DJ D-BO
Fresh sound on the block D-Bo is fast becoming the man behind the decks at some of the hottest clubs in Sydney, holding residencies at Red Room and Urban Soul Lounge as well as being guest DJ at celebrity after-parties for the likes of John Legend, Horace Brown and Mos Def.
No stranger to playing to a full house, D-Bo's sets are effortless, fluid, jam-packed and, above all, just the music. He's not into tricks, over scratching, self-promotion or hype. "I love DJ-ing with a passion", he says, "and I live by the track Music Makes Me High, by The Lost Boyz, because it makes me feel that way, to where I can’t get enough of it. |

"Our role as DJ hasn't changed much as we're there to entertain the crowd and keep them entertained. For me it comes down to my track selection, skill and creativity and being tasteful about what I do".
Inspired by watching pioneer urban DJs like George B, Minh and Clifford shape the scene nearly 13 years ago, D-Bo took the plunge three years back. Already he's expanded from club gigs to include radio shows and production in his list of accomplishments.
"For me it's just about being able to play music, knowing what to play and seeing the crowd react and have a good time!" says D-Bo. |
